Frequency of maintenance will vary depending upon the pollutant load of the surrounding area. A newly installed strcuture should be inspected every few months to determine service frequency and develop a routine maintenance plan.
For an area with high volume of foliage/debris the screen system would be serviced every 3-4 months and the lower sediment chambers every 6 months.
- Manholes or Hatches precast into the lid of the structure provide plenty of access. No need to enter the structure.
- A vaccum truck may be used to remove debris from the screen system.
- The screen is hinged to allow easy access into the lower chambers to vaccum collected sediment.
- The absorption boom should be replaced when it appears to be saturated with oils (darkened in color).
- Dampers to block off water flow during servicing can be incorporated into the structure.
